We choose to work with Kaiser because of their integrated approach to health care. Your primary care physician, as well as any specialists you may need to visit, are all located in one building. Paid Time Off (Sick and Vacation)
There are two types of Paid Time Off: vacation and sick leave. Vacation PTO is available for team members who are Full-Time and Level 5 and above. Sick Leave is available for all W2 employees. Refer to the PTO Policy for more details.
Holidays
Union Kitchen takes pride in being open 365 days a year with consistent hours. On holidays, we’re a gathering place for family and friends. In bad weather, we’re a safe port in the storm.
Union Kitchen recognizes and will close on the following holidays:
- Thanksgiving (Stores Closed)
- Christmas (Stores Closed)
Payroll Schedule
At Union Kitchen, we have different pay periods with their own structured pay schedule:
At Union Kitchen LLC, Hourly employees are on weekly pay periods. Pay dates are Monday. If a pay date falls on a holiday, you will be paid on the next workday. Special provisions may be required from time to time if holidays fall on pay dates. Check with your Manager if this type of date arises.
At UK Distribution LLC, Hourly employees are on biweekly pay periods. Pay dates are Monday. If a pay date falls on a holiday, you will be paid on the next workday. Special provisions may be required from time to time if holidays fall on pay dates. Check with your Manager if this type of date arises.
All Salaried employees regardless of assigned company entity are on semi-monthly pay periods. Pay dates are on the 1st and 15th of the following month. If a pay date falls on a holiday, you will be paid on the next workday. If a pay date falls on a Saturday or Sunday, you will be paid on next workday. Special provisions may be required from time to time if holidays fall on pay dates. Check with your Manager if this type of date arises.
If you are paid by commission, refer to your commission agreement.
Review your paycheck for accuracy. If you find an issue, report it to your Manager immediately.

Union Kitchen pays for professional certificates approved in your leadership training checklist from nationally recognized groups like Servsafe, Ohio State, Cornell, Culinary Institute of America and WSET, to name a few, to help our team develop their careers, wherever life takes you!
Leadership Development Program
We have created on-demand programs and in-person training to develop leadership skills and have dedicated instructors. In 2021, we invested over $500k into this program. And it’s paying off for all of us. Through this program, all of our leadership positions have earned their way through the levels of leadership. In 2021, we had over 230 promotions! We build leaders!
