We’re committed to taking care of our team so that people at Union Kitchen can focus on taking care of our customers and achieving our mission! Our go-to health care plan is an affordable option rooted in prevention and healthy lifestyle choices.
We choose to work with Kaiser because of their integrated approach to health care. Your primary care physician, as well as any specialists you may need to visit, are all located in one building. This helps you save time and energy because you don’t have to run all over the city to get the care you need.

The below is the dental plan that is offered from Guardian:
- DentalGuard Preferred
Union Kitchen does not offer contributions for this dental plan
- Union Kitchen offers health care to full-time team members. Full-time team members are people who work an average of 30 hours a week, or those who are in full-time, salaried positions and who are Level 4+.
- Team Members' contributions to health care are automatically deducted from your paycheck each week.
- Your health care becomes effective the first of the month following the date you were hired.
Kaiser’s approach to health care emphasizes prevention and overall wellness. Most routine procedures are covered at a minimal cost such as: annual checkups and blood tests, dental and vision checkups, generic drugs, immunizations and vaccines. They also have resources available on your Kaiser dashboard to email with your doctors and learn more about the available plans.
Our plan has a high deductible. This means that your monthly premium is low, but you can enjoy the peace of mind of knowing that if you experience a major illness or accident, you will be able to afford coverage.
Your manager is your point of contact regarding basic health care questions and information regarding our health care plan, but for specific medical questions, please contact your doctor.
On the last Friday of each month, we check each person’s eligibility for health care based on hours worked during the last month. To continue to be eligible for health care a person must be paid a minimum of 120 hours during the previous month.
